European Athletics is the authority for competitive running on the continent, setting official safety and quality standards. A set of communications, including a star-rating system, has been created that informs race organisers and participants of the different event specifications.

Race organisers are encouraged to upload their event for review by European Athletics which helps runners find and take part in Europe’s leading races.
